High School and Freshman Year itself simply feels like a living hell. But it also brings happy experiences and relationships. It’ll make you appreciate the good old days were the whole school day is learning the alphabet and adding. Depending on how you spend it Freshman year could either be your worst nightmare or something to look back on and enjoy the thought of.When I mention things like problems you’ll face i’m not going to tell you “it’s going to be ok” or “ Don’t worry” or anything like that, only because that type of encouragement or phrases never encouraged me . Those words basically mean nothing, I mean sure the people who said them had good intentions but they don’t do anything.

First off, Time management and Procrastination. In freshman year you have to use skills whether you’ve already learned them or not. Maybe you’re someone who procrastinates a lot or someone who spends their time wisely. Either way at some point you are not going to do an assignment or project or you have an overwhelming amount of work. So the key to being able to deal with time management and dealing with overwhelming work is just take a like 5 minute break. Take that time to gather your thoughts and eat a snack or something. Then organise your work. Make it so you have your work sorted out in a order from easiest to hardest or by due date, whatever is your preference is. I know I procrastinated a lot! It got me in trouble and brought my grade down. No matter how lazy or negligent you feel, just get it over with.Waiting ‘till the last moment will get you nowhere. I know all of this from experience.

I know everyone says this, but get out of your comfort zone and get to know people. I mean it’s the truth. Having friends and going to school events makes not only the Freshman year and even the whole High School experience a whole lot better. I missed out because I was a loner most of the year and still am kinda. But going to events and making and having friends are like a distraction, not a bad one but a good one it helps you get a break from almost anything from something like familial drama to a rude teacher. But be sure to find the right type of friends and not some stuck up people or a gang not that anyone would do that but still. What’s most important is to Just don’t fall into the wrong crowd.

Don’t be stressed over College or your dream job if you don’t have one yet. All that comes naturally don’t let people especially adults stress you out about those things. Live the way you want but legally, obviously. Be your own person decide your future for yourself. Whether you become a barista or a rocket scientist it’s all up to you. Don’t lose sight of your goals. Do your best to adapt to whatever happens in your life.Don’t be devastated over failure but use that failure to help guide you forward.

Well, to wrap it up I hope you have a great school year and be able to enjoy the full year without the Coronavirus or anything dangerous like that. May you be able to enjoy the most of your year and do you best academically and in general. Don’t be like me and procrastinate and waste your time doing random other things. Be sure to find the right type of friends those who have your back and will support you. Not those who would turn their back on you or who are selfish. Finally, Just be yourself and be your own person. I truly hope you enjoy most of your High School Experiences as a student and as a person
