365 Days of Python: Day #27 — Routine Reading

Reading is something that we (as humans) do every day. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a reliable statistic for how many words the average person reads in a day.

But, if I had to guess, I would estimate that the average 18–24 year old reads around 100,000 words a day. Please take this estimate with a grain of salt, as it is really just a guess.

Obviously, the number of daily words read from person to person is highly dependent on a number of variables.

What is the person’s occupation?

Is the person a regular social media user?

Does the person consume the news?

Regardless, reading words is a given in life (just like seeing colors or hearing sounds are).

And if you are already reading thousands of words on a daily basis (via social media or news outlets), why not read books too?

Day #27 (12/11/2022)

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.”
