365 Days of Python: Day #32 — Clear Communication

If there is one skill that is invaluable to all career paths, it is that of having clear communication.

In my 2–3 years of experience of internships and full-time work (in my field), I have discovered that being an effective communicator is almost as important as knowing what you are doing.

Acquiring the skill of clear communication seems easy on paper; however, mastering this skill takes years and years of experience.

Why is clear communication beneficial?

For starters, knowing how to get a point across can take you incredibly far. This is especially true when you are trying to get a point across to someone who knows little to nothing about the topic itself. A perfect example of this is the challenge of trying to explain quantum computing to a child. In fact, you can watch how that was done here.

Furthermore, being able to explain something in a concise manner makes you irreplaceable. In my relative short professional experience, I have met very few people who can do this. In fact, most people usually take the opposite path and provide a long-winded explanation.

Day #32 (12/16/2022)

“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
