365 Days of Python: Day #35 — Extraterrestrial Excitement

Space is one of my favorite things to think, read, and talk about, so this should be a fun blog.

What makes space so interesting?

For starters, the size of space is so large that is almost impossible to grasp. The observable universe is 1.9*10²² times larger than the Earth. To be honest, I wanted to find an appropriate point of reference for this number, but the comparisons that I found were equally as hard to grasp.

With all that space (pun intended), the possibilities for what is out there are endless, sort of. In reality, humans have developed such good technological instruments that we now know more about the moon and Mars than we know about our own oceans. Granted, mapping a couple of celestial bodies in our own solar system is like the cavemen figuring out how to make fire when you consider that we might be able to map entire galaxies in the future.

Another aspect of space that makes it so interesting is that it is able to be explored. Imagine if the air (if you want to call it air) outside of our atmosphere was so volatile that any kind of natural element or man-made material would instantly disintegrate upon exit. Luckily, this is not the case, and humanity is able to send satellite, probes, and whatever else they can attach a rocket to out of Earth’s atmosphere…
