365 Days of Python: Day #50 — Meaningful Milestones
For any long-term project, it can be difficult to gauge success along the way without identifying discrete milestones. Furthermore, having a lack of these milestones can correlate to a decrease in motivation as the project drags on.
How far along do you want to see the project in 6–12 months?
What does the project being 50% completed actually mean (i.e. what needs to be accomplished)?
Are your deadlines flexible? If so, by how much?
In my opinion, all of these questions (and more) are extremely important to ask yourself at the start of any long-term project.
