The first semiconductor was created in 1874 by Karl Ferdinand Braun.

And over the years, semiconductors have not only became exponentially more powerful. They have also climbed the ladder to become one of the most desired pieces of technology, which is partly due to the fact that the supply of them is controlled by a limited number of companies who can produce them with the highest degree of quality.

Closing Thoughts

By the time that I had entered college, my attitude towards computers had shifted from that of fascination and intrigue to that of lackadaisical appreciation.

Granted, there are still some tech-related inventions that reignite my once burning passion for computers. But I would definitely consider myself out of the loop when it comes to what new intentions are on the horizon for the computing world.

The topic of semiconductors is a bit different, though, because it has a reaching effect that takes it out of the computing world and into the political world.
