Roots Technology coding module 2 Recap

Hello, I will be sharing my experience with module 2 of the Roots Technology program. I learned about Git and the command line. Before starting I did not know any information or commands of Git or the command line. From a bit of research, I only learned it had a bit of a learning curve.

Learning it definitely had frustration, but I feel great about myself that I learned the basics of the two technologies. After learning the basics I realized how important it is if you work with a team of engineers. Git makes it easier to collab with others. As for the command line, you can get things done faster with the commands, and navigating your computer is faster without depending on your mouse.

The most challenging part was understanding what each command does in Git, getting used to using the technologies with projects, and remembering the syntax of each command. But it was rewarding to see the things work and not see an error message come up. It is rewarding to feel 50% more comfortable with the technology now because, in the beginning, it was a little daunting. Learning the basics makes me feel more confident I can get a grasp of more advanced commands down the road.

As for the Roots Technology’s coding curriculum. It was clear what I had to learn and there were enough resources provided to get more proficient with the technologies. And I know it is enough because other students’ testimonials on the Roots website prove that. It shows me if other students have success then surely I can if I put in the work.
