The two players will attempt to become the first amateur to win the tournament in 17 years.

Jang Yubin (21) and Cho Woo-young (22) will attempt to become the first amateurs in 17 years to win multiple titles on the Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Korean Tour. They will compete in the Korean Tour LX Championship (600 million won in prize money) at The Heaven Country Club (Par 72) in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, starting on July 31. If either wins the tournament, they will become the first amateur to win two titles in a season since Kim Kyung-tae in 2006. Kim won the PokerStars Open and the Samsung Venest Open at the time.

Jang Yubin topped the leaderboard at the Gunsan CC Open, which concluded on Sunday. If he wins the LX Championship, he will become the first amateur player to win two consecutive championships. 성인웹툰 “My upset win at the Gunsan CC Open gave me the confidence to say, ‘I can do it. I want to continue the momentum from last week’s win.”

Cho previously finished first at the Golf Zone Open in April. It is the first time in 10 years since 2013 (Lee Soo-min and Lee Chang-woo) that amateurs on the Korean Tour have combined for two wins in a season. The most wins by an amateur was three in 2006, with Kim Kyung-tae winning twice and Kang Sung-hoon winning once.

At the Hangzhou Asian Games, which begins in September, Jang Yubin and Cho Woo-young will be competing for the LX Championship against a stellar field of professional seniors, including defending champion Seo Yo-seop and Ko Gun-taek, who will be looking for his third win of the season as the only multiple winner this year. Both players delayed turning professional after the Asian Games, which were scheduled to be held in September last year, were postponed by a year due to the spread of the novel coronavirus in China.

With the Asian Games allowing professional players to compete in golf, South Korea has fielded a four-member men’s team, including Lim Sung-jae and Kim Si-woo, 19가이드03 who both play on the U.S. Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour.
