Problem solving over starting up
Each of us can certainly pick a problem and try to make a small, probably insignificant dent in the problem universe. Someone will add to it and make the dent bigger. And so it goes on. Over time, collectively, a problem gets solved. A significant impact is made to the lives of people including all those who tried to solve the problem.
While starting up was supposed to be about solving problems, it is becoming more about getting funding and then finding an exit. Funding focus also has a risk that those starting up would focus on ‘hot’ areas where funding is likely.
More people trying to solve a problem as much as they can without worrying about funding, finding exit etc. is as important as starting up to solve problems. It will create more problem solvers who can then come together to make a bigger dent, probably a more successful business eventually.
