Of Rainbows and Colored Bands

Rainbows will make your dreams come true.

Today’s featured Malaysian is Cheong Choon Ng. Cheong Choon is the inventor of Rainbow Loom which is a plastic loom used to weave rubber bands of various colors into bracelets and charms.

Cheong Choon was just experimenting making toy bracelets with his daughter when he had the idea of turning it into a business.

So, who would have thought that a Malaysian guy could become a millionaire just by selling colored rubber bands? Maybe he got the idea from playing with rubber bands in Malaysia during primary school days.

Who still remembers all the magic tricks that we could do with rubber bands? Or the jump ropes that we made using them?

Good times.

Rock on Cheong Choon.
