The history
The first societies arrived in Europe around 1200 B.C. Later on a powerful city state named Rome. This city state was so powerful at one point it reached from Portugal to Syria to Britain to North Africa. This Empire lasted from around 27 B.C but its power started to decline in 395 A.D. After that it became a network of a lot of city states until 1861 the kingdom of Italy was made. Things didn't pick up until 1914 when World War 1 started and Italy took the side of the United Kingdom. But at the end of the war Italy was in poverty. But it was later in World War 2 where they joined Germany and Japan and ended up losing the war. In Italy there are so many places to learn the deep history and some of them include the Florence Cathedral, Paestum, Duomo di Milano and the Roman colosseum. These places not only tell a story they also are stunning works of art.
Things to do in Italy
Italy has no shortage of great and fun things to do by yourself or with your family. If you like getting outdoors and learning all about Italy than a walking tour or bus tour would be perfect. If relaxing is more of your thing than a sailing experience or a spa day at an exclusive spa in the Alps. Or if you like water there are boat tours to Capri island. Along with these winery tours are a very popular option and some of them include a lunch where you can try Italian food and learn about the winery.
What to eat in Italy
Italy is home to some of the best foods and many might be your favorites. Italy has created Pizza which is probably the most famous dish along with pasta. But when you're in Italy it is important to try all of the local food because its unforgettable along with many of the top restaurants in the world. Some of the most popular local food places are La Giostra Firenze, Pizzeria arcobaleno. Some of the more fine dining places are La Pergola, Aroma which is located close to the colosseum. A great way to experience all of this great food is to take one of the many food tours this way you can try a lot of different options.
