Do you feel lost sometimes?

Does this feeling manifest when nothing seems to work out the way you want it to be?

You would have probably experienced that every time you try a new haircut it brings you immense joy and thrill. Self-love not only involves caring for your body but also your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being. I want to share my 14 Beautiful Habits that Might Make Your Day.

1. Spending time in nature

It may be surprising but spending time in nature improves breathing, reduces feelings of anxiety, depression, and isolation and increases levels of endorphins and dopamine in the body which promotes happiness. It is an effective way to rejuvenate yourself.

2. Practice Acceptance

It is very important to accept your positive as well as negative side. Accepting your negative traits is helpful to improve yourself. Sadly, nowadays we emphasize how we look in the mirror instead of focusing on our inner selves. Embracing your physical self will make you more confident and enhance your personality.

3. Be good to your body

We are so busy in our lives that we sometimes forget to give our bodies some rest. Adequate sleep, proper nutrition and some amount of physical activity are the basic needs that the body demands. If not provided can create severe health issues.

4. Enjoy a picnic

Having a lively weekend is all that we crave the entire week. Joining a trekking club can be a good way to enjoy it. Travelling and meeting new people is a good way to bring a colourful smile to your face.

5. Cozy up and watch a movie

If you are working all the 6 days of your week you might choose to relax on your Sunday. Having movie time or binge-watching can lift your mood and reduce stress.

6. Hang out with friends and family

Time goes fast when we are with our family and friends. Being social is one of the ways which makes us happy. Also when a large number of people come together there is always a fun time.

7. Write a Gratitude journal

The routine of gratitude journaling can have a good impact on your day-to-day life. It shifts your focus on all the positive things in life. It reduces stress and can be very beneficial if done at night.

8. Practice mindfulness meditation

We all know that meditation and yoga calm our body and mind, yet we procrastinate practicing it daily. But very few of us actually implement it. You may be surprised to know some of the mind-blowing facts of meditation which are- enhanced creativity, decision-making, problem-solving skills, control of blood pressure, etc.

9. Don’t be afraid to let go of toxic people

If you come across someone with red flags, don’t feel shy to cut them out. It saves lots of time and energy when we avoid such people. It is always better to avoid the drama as having a connection with these people will anyways destroy your inner peace.

10. Put yourself first

Your number one priority should be yourself. Prioritizing yourself doesn’t mean being selfish. You have to help yourself before helping others. We spend a lot of time caring for others and forget about ourselves.

11. See beauty in simple things

Happiness can be found in every little thing. You can put a smile on someone’s face even with warm greetings. But the real question is do you want to be happy? You can choose to be happy, happiness doesn’t choose you!

12. Don’t worry about other’s opinion

You should not let anyone’s opinions affect you. It is necessary to make decisions without being bothered by what others say. As they say “Kuch toh log kahenge logon ka kaam hai kehna” which means people will say something, it’s their habit to say something.

13. Volunteer for a cause

Helping others always bring joy to ourselves. Volunteering for a good cause not only makes you happy but also contributes a significant impact on your surroundings. Malhar Kalambe at age 19 started an organization “Beach Please” with the mission to clean up the beaches in Mumbai. Today he has won numerous awards and is joined by many college students.

14. Admit your flaws and take action

Accepting your imperfections may be difficult but it makes you a better person. Admitting your flaws helps you to forgive yourself and move on.
