“Some manufacturers make their offerings sound impressive by over-emphasising bass levels, but these soon sound tiring. B&O takes the opposite approach. The frequency range is there, but as flat levels, so they are much better for longer term listening.

It’s nice that they’ve decided to do all control via the touch pads at the top of each earbud, with no side buttons to acciodentally press. The use of the touchpads is very easy — see picture for interface / effects. All designed to make ease of use as a prime objective.

The bluetooth pairs easily, and the app is a model of how to do things. You have a variety of listening modes (such as commute, workout etc). You can programme the level of sound isolation, and then tailor the sound in a matrix of warm, excited, relaxed and bright.

The installed pads were slightly too large for my ears, but a swap to one of the included alternatives soon sorted that out.

However, all of the above would be irrelevant if they didn’t sound good — thankfully, they sound glorious, regardless of the type of music I thew at them. Add in the power case which recharges the buds whenever they are placed in it, while the case itself keeps recharged via the usb lead, and battery life is really no problem — the app even shows you the level of charge available. The fit into the case with a satisfying magnetic click, so you know they are seated correctly, and the automatically turn on when you take them out.

Clearly, quality like this doesn’t comer cheap, and you can save yourself a coup[e of hundred by opting for the E2’s instead, but if you want the best, then these are they.”

“The fit is nearly as poor as the previous two versions (hint B&O: it’s the shape, not the size). The sound is sibilant and harsh with lackluster bass (even with a good seal). Moving them between my iPhone and MacBook Pro has been an exercise in frustration, requiring multiple resets. Multiple times they would connect but not play any audio until after another connection attempt. The Automatic standby setting in the app doesn’t stick. They have noticeable background hiss, the likes of which I typically expect in only much less expensive headphones. No active noise canceling. No auto pause function. My devices stayed connected to the headphones even after being returned to the case. At least they finally have a modern version of Bluetooth and AptX.

For a 3rd generation product commanding a whopping $350 premium, this is ridiculous and not the least bit competitive with what else is out there in this segment. I gave them a shot because I couldn’t get the previous two versions to stay in my ears and hoped these would finally do the trick. While these are improved in fit, they still aren’t very secure, and I have to use the largest ear tips to keep them in and get any decent sound out of them.

With all the shortcomings, I can’t think of a single compelling reason why one would want these, especially for $350. You can save a lot of money and get a better product with the Sennheiser MTW or the Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus, or one of the myriad of other better and cheaper options out there. These are (maybe) $200 headphones masquerading as a more premium product.”

“True wireless headphones are the latest big trend in the world of audio. Bang & Olufsen has been on this market for a long time since here is the 3rd version of their E8 model.

It is becoming more and more difficult to fight as the competition has increased, and prices have fallen.

The positive points:

- great comfort, good ergonomics

- IP54 certification: protection against dust and water splashes from all directions (a plus for perspiration, and therefore for workouts)

- very nice charging box, covered in leather, working with USB-C and induction

- access to advanced adjustment features thanks to the dedicated B&O application

- controls are simply carried out by a pressure system directly on each of the headphones — good autonomy The

weak points

- lack of active noise reduction, this is surprising because in this price range, competitors offer it

- the price, we clearly pay for the brand’s prestige.”

“When they stay in your ears they are great. I got these to replace my older pair of ear buds while I’m on the treadmill, at work, on workouts, or riding my bike. They are constantly falling out. Tried the different ear plug sizes but none of them made a difference. Thought maybe it was just an issue with my ears but my wife tried them to see how they were for her and she had the same issue. I never had this issue with my old pair. Went back to the old ones. Expensive lesson learned.”

“I have tried a view of these true wireless earphones so far and these are the best yet. the sound quality is crisp and clear. I’m perfectly happy with a good decent sounding earphone but for those with an ear that can tell the difference, the sound is excellent. The battery last a really long time and if you just put them in the case every now and then its like they never die (obviously also charge your case when you can). The case can also charge wirelessly if that’s your thing. speaking of the case, it is definitely a beautiful high end case. You download an app to change the settings for the earphone which seems pretty easy. You can also put into transparency mode which enhances your hearing and makes it so you can hear what’s going on around you even with the earphones in your ear. Transparency mode is good if you don’t want to take the earphones out all the time to listen to someone, like on a plane when the person next to you keeps asking you questions.

cons: don’t think it would be really good for workout, although I don’t think they were made with that in mind. Also the app didn’t work exactly how it should have but I was able to set what I needed. none of this I would take a star away for.

Not counting this as a con but the price is a bit high. Even though its high this device has some high end features and a high end look made with high end materials, so you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend for those who want true wireless earphones, yet also appreciate a bit of luxury with their Tech.”

“I had these earbuds for just over a year. The right earbud stopped working. Weird setup where you cannot listen to just the left. The right ALWAYS has to be used.

Anyway, the fit was not that great, but good if you are just using to talk/listen to music and not workout. My biggest beef is with their customer support. Earbuds were still under warranty, they were sent back for inspection, and have not heard back except to say there is a backlog. It’s been 36 days with no word on what’s going on. Even with the 10 business day timeframe, it’s been too long.”

“As someone who listens to music almost all day and games a lot at night, a good pair of bluetooth headphones is essential for me. I’ve tried quite a few and I’m very particular about what I like when it comes to these headphones. With just a few minor exceptions, the Beoplay E8 from Bang & Olufsen gets everything right, and puts it all in a great looking package.

Off the top, the audio quality is very good for Bluetooth headphones. They can’t compete with the professional-level wired headphones some audiophiles will need, but if you’re looking for headphones with no wires at all, these are about as good as you can get audio-wise.

The case the headphones charge in is a very stylish black leather, and it is rounded so there are no corners poking you in the leg when you have them in your pocket or your bag. The charging case holds enough charge to get you through at least a week of frequent listening, and it charges via USB-C, so it’s very fast to recharge. It also charges the earbuds quickly and never frustrated me by forcing me to adjust the earbuds to line them up just right before it would start charging.

The touch controls here take a little getting used to, and they’re split between both ears, so if you’re listening with just one you can’t access all the touch controls. Once you’re familiar with them, adjusting volume, stopping and starting your music, and answering calls are all extremely easy to do. If anything, they’re too easy to do, as the entire outwards-facing side of the earbuds is a touch control, which means when taking the earbuds out of your ears you will often accidentally press one or both buttons. One particularly useful feature is the transparency mode, which pauses your music and enhances outside sounds, allowing you to listen clearly to what’s going on around you without taking out the earbuds.

Overall these earbuds are stylish, they sound good, the controls are intuitive, the case looks great, and the battery lasts a long time. These headphones are the complete package, and they’re very simple to pick up and learn.”

“I ordered these for my daughter who has very small ear openings and has a really hard time finding earbuds that fit. She absolutely loves these and thinks that the rather hefty price (currently $349) is worth it. She wears them mostly for workout. They stay in place through push-ups, plyometrics, running, etc. She loves the noise canceling feature becuase she doesn’t like to hear herself breathing heavily when working out. The

sound quality is so good that she can now clearly hear the lyrics in certain songs she’s listened to over and over and was unable to discern all the lyrics. Additionally, the volume is sensitive and she doesn’t need to turn the volume all the way up on her phone like she had to with other earbuds. Another great feature is that the earbuds charge in case and can quickly be charged on the go. The battery life is extensive and doesn’t require frequent charging. Her only small issue is that the “tapping” feature to pause and restart music is very sensitive to the touch. If she brushes back her hair the music will pause. Overall, highly recommended!”

“I expected to be impressed with these, but was let down. The biggest problem is that they won’t stay in my ears longer than 5 minutes at a time. It doesn’t matter which size ear pieces I use, they just end up falling out. Luckily you can use one at a time because it gets frustrating with them falling out, so I end up just leaving one out instead of messing with it to get it back in place. The only problem with using just one is that each side controls certain things, like left side is volume down and right side is volume up etc so that can get annoying as well.

The sound is good, but I feel like not as good as it should be with this kind of price tag. It seemed a little flat and a lot of it just muddled together.

Just not impressed the way I thought I would be. Between impossible fit and unclear sound, I’m not sure which aspect I am disappointed with the most.”

The above is the user’s real review of Bang & Olufsen beoplay e8 3rd earphones. It can be seen that it is a good headphones with good sound quality. However, Its in-ear design will easily slide down during workout and cause discomfort to the ears.In addition, for workout headphones, its waterproof level is not high enough. On the whole, it is not particularly suitable for workout. If you expect to find a more cost-effective,comfortable to wear and has high waterproof performance alternative headphone, Wissonly Hi Runner bone conduction headphone is a good choice.
