· 3 Onions
· 4 Tomatoes
· 1 Capsicum
STEP 1: Shell off the prawn
If you have bought the prawn fresh from your local fish store, you might have to check if they have been cleaned already
· If they have not been cleaned carefully remove the shell completely by pulling the head and the tail of the prawn
· Remove the tiny intestines by making a small cut in the dorsal part of the body
· Add a pinch of salt and wash the prawn well
· Keep aside for few minutes so that the water soaked prawns would let go of the absorbed water content
· Drain the water completely and get the prawns ready
STEP 2: Mix Masala
· Put the prawns in a bowl after the water has drained well
· Add 2 teaspoons of chilli powder, coriander powder and chicken masala each
· Add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder each
· Add adequate amount of salt and mix well.
STEP 3: Fry well
· Switch on the stove and place the frying pan on it
· Add 200 ml of oil and heat well
· Put the masala mixed prawns in the hot oil and fry well
· After the prawns have been deep fried, place them in a bowl with tissue paper so that the oil gets absorbed
STEP 4: Prawn Thokku
· Place the kadai on the stove and add oil
· Add 1 teaspoon of mustard seed and few curry leaves
· Add the chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown
· Add the chopped tomatoes and mix well
