The abortion issue is a continuing surprise for me.

Why is it morally unacceptable to end an unwanted pregnancy, but morally acceptable to abandon the child and mother after birth?

Why is morally acceptable to punish women with higher insurance costs or no insurance for abortions, when men’s insurance is never affected?

What kind of morals can actually exist when a pregnancy and resultant child is the sole responsibility of the woman.

How moral is it that so many men are allowed to walk away from rape or incest or the sex that produced the child without the responsibility of any type of support? Are they not “aborting” that life from their own when they choose to have nothing to do with it?

And if these so-called morals are based on religion, would any “god” really okay the abandonment of two lives when religious beliefs are based on the preciousness of life? Or is life only precious when in the womb?

If people are so set on outlawing abortion, then measures need to be taken to support the child and the mother. You cannot preach morals and pro life when that belief only pertains to a clump of cells not even discernable as a human being.

You know, men have been allowed to make the rules of religion and the laws of the land and to have their way with women and girls (with consent or not) since forever. They’ve had so much control for so long, they’ve convinced themselves women don’t know their own bodies and/or don’t know what it takes to raise a child. Lawmakers (especially in TX) have degraded women to such an extent they hardly count as humans. When does this stop? None of these behavors are moral or grounded in religion. It’s time for men and society to get over it and let women make their own choices concerning their bodies and lives.
