4 things you can do to stop Brexit

Jun 28, 2016 · 2 min read

First off, know that you are not alone! Supporters of a final say include Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage.

Second, 39% is not a democratic mandate for such a momentous change in direction for our country. If this happens it will change your life, your childrens lives, and their childrens lives, massively. Peaceful democratic movements are the cornerstone of a truly democratic country. That’s what this is.

Third, you’re going to have to get off your ass to make this happen:

  1. Sign the Parliamentary petition

2. Send your MP an email - you can copy and paste the text below:

We call on MPs to reject the result of the EU referendum.

The Leave campaign misled millions of voters. Their two big pledges on NHS spending and immigration have already unravelled and they have no plan in place for a UK outside of the EU.

The future of the UK is at stake, the future of our young people is at stake and Britain’s place in the world is at stake. The financial markets have already crashed, companies are making plans to leave the UK, taking jobs and growth with them, and the pound has fallen to its lowest level in 30 years.

The turnout was only 72.2% and the results were only 52% to 48%. The future of our country cannot be jeopardised on such a poor mandate, achieved through misleading the electorate.

3. Send an email to the law firm making a legal action to debate Brexit in parliament. Try and include how Brexit will negatively affect you: Article50@mishcon.com

4. Follow us / Spread the Word / Don’t give up!

Share #2ndref memes and videos from our facebook and twitter.

Discuss and give vocal support for a final say on leaving the EU. At home, at work, in the pub… everywhere! If you believe in true democracy, you’re going to have to fight for it! Remember, you are exercising your democratic right. No one has any right to stop you.

We are in uncharted waters. Do not loose hope. We will win this.

And something to make you smile :) (admittedly for tragic reasons!)
