An API isn’t the same as the remote server — rather it is the part of the server that receives requests and sends responses.
You would be better off identifying and working with real thought leaders but what you really need to do is develop your own brand authority and thought leadership.
Bottom line: I guess the main question now is not even when it is time for outsourcing, but what is the right approach for it.
