How to Buy Meme Coins on the Solana Blockchain

Step 1

Swap your current currency to Sol.
Use a centralized exchange CEX such as: Crypto.com, Coinbase, Binance etc.

OR

Swap using ChangeNow or Rubic.

Step 2

Get Phantom Wallet to receive Sol. You can get the app or use the Firefox extension.

Step 3

Write down your seed phrase on paper. Make two copies and put it in two separate places. Don’t take a screenshot of your seed or paste it anywhere on your computer/phone etc.

Step 4

Get your address to receive Sol to your Phantom Wallet. You can find this in your phantom wallet.

Step 5

Go back to where you purchased your Sol and send it to your receive address from Step 4.

If using ChangeNow, then it’s a little different. It will ask for your receive sol address when you begin your swap. Then you can send your original currency to the address they provide. Follow their instructions and double check everything.
NOTE: It is a good practice to do small test amounts first to make sure you are doing it right. ChangeNow also has an app.

Step 6

Time to find your first meme coin to buy! In this example we are going to be using our coin of course, $2SD!

Get the contract number for the token and copy it. In this case it is:

Step 7

Go to the exchange, here we will use Raydium. Connect your wallet and then paste in the contract address. Now select how much sol you want to use to buy your coin with.

NOTE:
During high volume times you may have to adjust the slippage. Here it is set to 0.3. If the transaction fails you may need to make adjustments. Be careful adjusting the slippage too high or you may receive less than expected.

Step 8

Voila, you just made your first meme coin buy! Congratulations!
