Answers to yesterday’s exercises are on patreon.com/kyliesturgess.

For the following inductive arguments, identify whether these are strong or weak:

  1. Almost every time that the cat has gone in the garden, it has gone up the tree. It has gone up the tree many times. The cat has just gone into the garden. It will probably go up the tree.
  2. John wore a fez twice last week and he rarely wears a fez. So, he will probably wear a fez next week.
  3. The rain soaked the laundry yesterday, so I conclude that the rain will soak the laundry again tomorrow.
  4. My dentist told me that wine is good for digestion. So it’s probably true that wine is good for digestion.
  5. Numerous studies have shown that people who drink caffeine do not have problems sleeping. Sam drinks caffeine, so she probably doesn’t have problem sleeping.
  6. The sign says that the plane has left, so it’s likely that the plane has left.

Answers tomorrow on patreon.com/kyliesturgess.
