For the following inductive arguments, identify what the conclusion is and what the premise indicator/s are.

  1. Kate is a mouse, so Kate is an animal, as all mice are animals.
  2. Naturally she must have forgotten that it was her turn to do the cleaning. She didn’t do the dishes or vacuum the floor, and therefore, she didn’t clean the house.
  3. The noise must have come from inside the building; we know that there’s no way that the monsters could have come through the gate, because there’s electric guards on every railing of the gate.
  4. There’s no dishes in the dishwasher, so there mustn’t have been any dirty dishes to be cleaned. Also, there’s only clean dishes on the shelves.
  5. If there’s a noise in the car, it must mean it needs repairing; the car only makes a noise when it’s in need of repair, because it has always made noises when it’s in need of repair.
  6. There’s only five pens in the desk; in addition, there’s no paper in the photocopier — therefore someone has been using the stationary in the office again.
