February 27th — March 3rd

Founded in 1982, the Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid (Madrid International Contemporary Art Fair) will present its 38th edition this week from February 27th to March 3rd. In almost 4 decades the fair has been a key point of contact for artists, collectors, galleries and institutions from Europe and Latin America.

Last year’s edition saw more than 200 galleries distributed across 2 pavilions in IFEMA Madrid. This year over 100,000 visitors will be able to discover 203 galleries from 31 countries. These numbers indicate the relevance and importance of the fair in the international art scene.

The event is particularly central for Latin American perspectives. Since 1997 ARCO has bridged the cultural and artistic gap between Europe and Latin America by inviting countries like Mexico (2005), Brazil (2008), Colombia (2015) and Argentina (2017). This year Peru will be showcased as ‘guest of honour’ with a dedicated section Peru at ARCO.
