Sydney Vivid Festival
I seem to back onto my weekly trips to Sydney. Urgh
Don’t get me wrong I love Sydney — a quick trip in and out and then I am back on the road, its just driving up and down every week catches up with you.
I was in Sydney to see a show and was surprised by such the big crowds for vivid festival. Well not surprised, I was surprised at myself for not spending more time at vivd — it is friggin Ah-MAZING!!!
Imagine being in the room when the conversation was going on on about vivid …
Vivid Sydney is lighting festival with immersive light installations and projections. Part of the lighting festival also includes the performances from local and international musicians and an ideas exchange forum featuring public talks and debates from leading creative thinkers.
The event is held during winter in Sydney over the course of three weeks in May and June. The centrepiece of Vivid Sydney is the light sculptures, multimedia interactive work and building projections that transform various buildings and landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House andSydney Harbour Bridge in and around the Sydney CBD into an outdoor night time canvas of art. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivid_Sydney
I took a zillion photos, was tweeting away, found a few Wagga people, even got a retweet from vivid themselves, the hashtag boats a fav!
I had a beautiful room at the Shangri-la so my little boy could watch all the lights as well, it would of been to late for him to be out and about around the city, and he made his bed up against the window and husband said he just layed there smiling, he never got his iPad out once while we where in the harbour view room.
Vivid was a feast for my eyes and a massive creative visual injection I needed. I am always full of ideas and go, go, GO but art always takes it to another level. I remember one of my teachers at uni telling me if you are stuck — unplug and go find inspiration in art and let the art fill you up.
So many ideas — LOOK OUT!
Oh — There is an account on Instagram of a Wagga person taking photos around town, you know of the Woolies sign and the crossing calling it Vivid Wagga HILARIOUS! just search #VividWagga on insta!
