Hmmmm.
Interesting responses.
I was attracted to your comic by it’s simplicity at the very bottom of the Medium page as a tiny icon.
What is this?
A cartoon?
On Medium.
No way.
Cool.
I’ll check it out so I clicked.
I was first intrigued by the rain and began to read.
So I did.
I identified with the lady, due to loss, as a consequence of a decision, due to greed, or disillusionment, of having love, and lost, as most of us have whether we admit it or not.
No-one wants to get old and ugly tho., no one wants to admit they were wrong, especially at the time.
No one wants to hear about it, even though, sometimes, that’s the only way to work through it.
After finishing the cartoon, I felt I had wasted my time, since nothing happened.
No-one got ran over., no-one got shot., no-one got mugged., no-one got stabbed., no-one got insulted. WTF, then on the last frame, I’m like did she even cross the fucking street?
God-damit.
No Progress.
But then maybe that’s the point.
If you just sit and complain, you’re not getting anywhere.
Maybe your Cartoon was so simple, the only thing left to do is project onto it what we see or feel in or about ourselves, and in that, it’s brilliant.
The comments were the best part imo., interesting too.
As everyone projects themselves, since the pointlessness swirls we have to make sense ourselves.
OMFG I wonder if you changed her race and did a slightly dif cartoon how that would go.
This bitch is “Elitist” one of them said.
If that’s the case.,
I think the White Guy must have been gay, since he didn’t say anything.
He must not have been able to identify with her or her troubles., having never lost, nor fucked with female companionship in that regard.
So I added this one and followed you and your Spiral Bound pub.
I liked the tease, there could be something more…brilliant.
I really liked the rain,
and the use of color on the characters.
