WINTER
Ughhh
Canadian weather is VERY bi-polar. We are reaching what is supposed to be our spring but NO winter wants to hang on with all that it has got. This year our winter has been so damn long, longest winter in my memory at least. It has also been one of the coldest winters that I can think of. Minus 40 degrees celsious hits you right in your bones as soon as you step outta the door.
Now as spring is approaching the weather has become like a individual on a bad trip and is very bi-polar and does not know how to react to a situation. Let me explain one day this week, Wednesday I believe it was warm enough that you did not need a big Canadian Goose parka with the fur to keep you warm. I personaly was in a t-shirt with very light and airy pants on, I was very comfortable and content with my body temerature. It was great spring was looking like it was closer than we all thought but no, mother nature gave us a nice day on Wednesday to slap us in the face with a bitterly cold and snowy day on Thursday that saw about 15 centimeters of snow on the ground.
Not only did it snow frigging buckets it was windy and as the snow was falling the wind was blowing it sideways so that it got all up in your face and it was not fun. I could relate it almost to a Canadian hurricane of stuff happening. The snow plows were on the road plowing and the salt trucks were putting down a thick layer of salt to melt the ice to prevent car accidents. All of Toronto kind of goes into a post-apcolyptic state after a snow storm, the city gets really quite and people on the street become less and less. The city staff deal with the clean up of roads and sidewalks and then relative normality comes back to the city. Now for those of you who don’t know Toronto in the Province of Ontario is the largest city in Canada so all of the roads that the city staff need to clear is no easy task, crews work for days to get normality back to the city.
Now today it is Friday and the temperature has probably gone up like 15 degrees and we are back to t-shirt weather. The snow is melting and peoples faces are getting happier and happier. I think a warm up in weather gradually increases individuals happiness and they are more motivated to do what they need to do.
Summer time is just around the corner and I cant wait for the sun and to tan my pale pasty white body to a golden brown or olive color If I am in the sun to long I wont get a golden tan I will just be a red and raw looking piece of burnt meat. I just cant wait to get going back to the beaches and going camping and swimming and all of those rocking summer activities.
So here is the question that I want to ask……… What season do you like the most, the chilliness of winter or the warm and loving glow of a sunny summer after noon ?
