Perhaps you’ve heard or read about the eco-friendly five R’s: refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot:
♻️ Refuse what you don’t need.
♻️ Reduce what you need (the amount you buy).
♻️ Reuse what you consume.
♻️ Recycle what you cannot refuse, reduce, or reuse.
♻️ Rot the rest.
Those who seek conscious consumption and to eventually take the path of zero waste pay special attention to the first two R’s. They reduce the number of packaged products and all unrecyclable goods that they purchase, so there is simply no garbage left in their lives, only recyclables.
In the meantime, we advise you to rethink the name of what we throw away. It’s not trash. It’s waste, and very often recyclable waste.
Believe us: recyclables make lots of people money! It’s time for us to get the benefits, too!
