The small FOV definitely puts some hard limits on what kinds of applications can be created. What we’re trying to do is design applications that can work within those limits and not try to force something to work. If the decision on accepting the small FOV was a tradeoff that allows HoloLens to be untethered and reasonably comfortable to wear in terms of weight and heat then we agree it was a good compromise. But it also might be a limitation of the optical waveguide technology itself. Regardless we definitely hope the next version is somewhere in the 90–120 degree range. That would open up many more possibilities for applications.
