A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking about the meaning of metaverse to our world and life. And should we invest in the metaverse industry before its booms, just like buying Apple 10 years ago? Could the metaverse be the future trend of the world? For those questions, I would say YES!!!
The metaverse is a term used to describe a highly immersive 3D virtual world experience obtained through the use of a mixture of technologies such as AR, VR, and MR. In other words, the metaverse creates another world for us, and most technology in the real world could be applied to the metaverse, which means creating a second market in another place. For example, education, healthcare, work, communication, travel, and so on. And I think it can solve a lot of social problems, like house prices, work-life balance, and things like that.
The global metaverse market size was estimated at USD 38.85 billion in 2021. It is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 39.4% from 2022 to 2030.
However, I know there still have a lot of problems that need to be solved. Actually, many investors lack confidence in Meta Platforms’ metaverse strategy, like data security, and ethical issues. But I’m still positive about the metaverse, and I will focus on the new progress in that industry.
