Start-ups have not only a drinking problem, but a conformity problem. In an industry which prides itself on independent and out-of-the box thinking, one would never expect such cognitive dissonance. However, anyone who works at the big tech firms desperately want to fit in and will do any and everything to be liked. Mental collapse is indeed the price one pays for this Faustian choice.
