The Atlanta Braves are a professional baseball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The team was established in 1871 and is one of the oldest continuously operating professional baseball franchises in the United States. The Braves have won three World Series championships, with their most recent victory in 1995.

The Braves were originally based in Boston, Massachusetts, and were known as the Boston Red Stockings. The team moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1953 and became the Milwaukee Braves. The team then moved to Atlanta in 1966, where they have been located ever since.

One of the most notable eras in Braves history was the 1990s, when the team won 14 consecutive division titles from 1991 to 2005. This included a World Series championship in 1995, when the Braves defeated the Cleveland Indians in six games. The Braves’ success during this period was due in large part to their strong pitching staff, which included Hall of Famers Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and John Smoltz.

In recent years, the Braves have continued to be a competitive team in the National League.

They won their fourth consecutive division title in 2021 and made it to the National League Championship Series before ultimately falling to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Braves play their home games at Truist Park, which opened in 2017. The stadium features a number of amenities, including a museum dedicated to the team’s history and a number of restaurants and shops. The Braves have a loyal fanbase in Atlanta and continue to be one of the most popular sports teams in the city.
