AFRO SERIES COVER ART

This has been a long time coming, and Terri makes it absolutely worth the wait. After announcing himself to the world with his stellar performance on smash hit, Soco; Terri followed up with Bia which was largely successful. Since then, he has dropped a couple of songs, while laying verses on the songs of other artistes. Afro Series therefore could not have come sooner, and the quality of this project is a signal for the great things to expect from the Edo-born artiste.

As the name suggests, Afro Series is a compilation of Afrobeats tunes, with Terri alternating between the more traditional Afrobeat sound and Afro Pop. The exceptional work of the producers on Afro Series must be applauded with Killertunez, Iambeatz, Sarz, Tuzi and Blaise Beatz, all delivering beautiful instrumentals. Terri never disappoints with his melodies, making sure to own the project, and not be overshadowed by the exceptional production.

The standout tracks on the albums include its lead single, Ojoro, Kill Man as well as Doo. On this project, Terri finally delivers on the promise which he has shown since his career took off, while also proving that he can be so much more. The Wizkid influence is very evident on Afro Series, but what do you expect from the prodigy of one of Africa’s finest music exports? Terri will win a lot of fans with this project, but he must work to offer something more distinct for his debut album.

Rating: 7.5/10.
