GET LAYD COVER ART

Omah Lay is arguably one of the best break out artistes of 2020. On this project he proves to be that artist who has come to stay. The Afro-fusion artist writes and produces most of his records, so it would be accurate to say he owns his sounds .

The project kicks off with Damn. On it, he sing about his lover loving him like “damn” regardless of him being drunk, jobless & lost. On “Lo Lo” he infuses sounds on a soft hip-hop instrumental on which he sings about showing love. “You” was his break out single earlier this year where he sings about loving his girl, telling us all the things he wants to do to his lover .

Bad influence is mid-tempo song , in this track he talks about the negative influence his lover has brought into his life .

The EP is rounded up with Ye Ye Ye a song with a fusion of trap and Afrobeat vibes. Omah Lay uses raunchy lyrics to paint a picture about what goes down between him & his lover. This track is rated X.

Writers verdict : This body of work is very solid. Omah Lay is one artiste whose sound is quite unique and it is easy to see him making big moves in the industry in the near future. Get Layd is super impressive for a debut project.

Standout tracks : This is quite quite tricky cause the songs on this body of work are really nice but You & Bad Influence stand out beautifully.

Rating : 8.0
