H.R.4206 — 21st Century Power Grid Act

The Gist

This bill allows the Department of Energy to create a funding program for energy-related projects that focus on the modernization and advancement to the electrical grids of various cities, states, and regions.

Summary

To be eligible for this funding program, a project must show that it will be able to safely and reliably improve the grid and meet their goals, show secure communications and management within the project, and be in partnership with a higher education institution, a National Laboratory, a state, local, or federal government, or an Indian tribe.
