The Congressional example is just silly. In that case, the same holds true for Men as well. Its a respect thing. Members of Congress should repect the institute of which they serve. Formal business attire is the rule, and should be adhered to. I can assure you, many of those men would rather be wearing shorts and a t-shirt instead of a 3 piece suite, vest, and tie. It’s freaking hot and humid in that swamp known as Washington DC. If men can’t wear sleavless shirts and shorts, why should women be allowed to?
Now, as for the point of the article, I totally agree, the conflicting standards around the world are brilliantly emphasized by that poigant 3 image sketch.
