Last night Jill FaceTimed me. Everyone was hanging out in her room (sloshed I might add) playing games. They started with Secret Hitler, and it’s just as wonderfully awful when you aren’t in the room. It started with everyone saying they missed me, Jeff yelling “come back!” and trying to give me change through the screen, and Dwaine telling me I was his favorite and proceeding to make some vulgar hand gestures at me (it’s okay though because he’s my favorite too). And Sophie held me for a minute where I almost exclusively saw into her nostrils. I love Sophis. When Dwaine and some others went to get QuipLash, Yael and Jeff had the screen and Jeff serenaded me with the Extended Cut™️ of “Sophie’s Mom” to the tune of “Stacie’s Mom.” It was quite honestly the best concert I’ve ever witnessed lol. Yael and I tried to start a SnapStreak but I can’t be relied on to contact people. Jeff then asked me when I got back because we’re going to hang, and asked if I wanted a KitKat. Jill shut that down, but I thought it would’ve been worth it 🤷🏻. We played QuipLash for a little bit, because I could play from Glasgow, then everyone left to get food, and I was on my own again in Scotland. I miss everyone already.

This morning, my mom’s flight was delayed again, so I slept in. I hung out in the AirBnB until right around noon, then decided to walk around Glasgow. The house is in the West End, and from what I gathered when looking at rooms earlier this year, it’s the artsy district of Glasgow. I planned on wandering aimlessly, but ended up at Glasgow University. I started at the Hunterian Art Gallery (and will be going back to the MacKintosh house before we leave for sure) and it was alright. Nothing life-changing, but there were some cool paintings by Scottish artists. Then I crossed the street to walk around campus, and ended up in the Hunterian Museum. It’s the anthropological, cool-if-you-overlook-the-colonial-history museum. It was beautiful. The ceilings were incredible all over the university. After I finished the museum, I went to the student store to try and find a crewneck, because its v chilly up here. They didn’t have any I liked, but I bought an enamel pin with the Scottish and American flags crossed. I got a discount on it too, because the girls working and I bonded over Art™️ boys who smoke, and listen to Mac Demarco, and think that taking pictures of girls with a polaroid is high art. Then I stopped into some vintage stores on the way back to the house. I tried on this incredible wool Burberry blazer that was only £55, but it was too big in the shoulders ☹️. The hunt continues.

My mom got here around 4pm. Then we walked to the botanic garden. I need to check out the Myriad when I get back, because the two I’ve been to this month have been superb. Then we walked around for a little bit, and ended up back over by Glasgow University. My mom said her cab driver asked why she was here, and when she said she was meeting me after being at Oxford, he drove past campus and said “Oxford eat your heart out!” I do have to agree that the campus is even more beautiful than Oxford’s. On the way back to the AirBnB, we stopped into Nardini’s, an Italian gelato shop that was super cute. I need to cut it out with the dairy though or someone is going to have to throw me into Loch Ness because I won’t make it home.

P.S. I’ve got everything now 💗💗💗
