It is refreshing when players drop the B.S. and provide insight into their real thoughts. The cattiness of Westbrook and KD when the Thunder traded away Reggie Jackson was delicious. It would be interesting to ask the 3 of them how they view that trade now, in light of the contributions of Enes Kanter and Kyle Singler to OKC’s record. Is Jackson happy being top banana on a middling Eastern Conference team? Does KD now have a better understanding of why Jackson wanted out? Does Westbrook miss having a competent (albeit disgruntled) backup point guard?
The all purpose cliche that I would like to terminate is “we’re just trying to get better.” As if anyone else is trying to get worse.
