--

The Female Founder Challenge we co-organized with VivaTech, Atomico, Ventech, JaneVC and the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society is the first of a long series of 50inTech’s initiatives.

We are very proud to announce that Cedric O, the French Minister of the Digital Economy, will award the winner on Friday 17th of May on the CapGemini Invent stage.
— The Female Founder Challenge will take place from 1:45pm to 3:15pm.

Our ambition is to fight the gender gap in concrete term by giving female founders the keys to develop, run and succeed in their start-up.

One of the necessary tools to acquire is clearly funding.

Money buys resources, people, and time to create and see ideas and business flourish. Fundraising can be tough for any startup founder. But women are going into the arena with hands tied behind their backs in a male-dominated industry: women-led startups only raised 2.7 percent of venture capital investment in 2018.

Indeed, the first fundraising requires a network that is lacking for women. Men are often recommended to investors and are therefore more likely to obtain their funds. Success still hangs on relationships and privileges in the tech industry.

We conceived the Female Founder Challenge together with VivaTech to create success stories of funding and increase for real the number of women-led startups who raise funds (be it seed round or Series A ). After the launch of the 50inTech, the matching between female founders and funders will happen in our platform thanks to our data-driven approach — Caroline Ramade, Founder and CEO 50inTech
