Week 4: Re-Prototype/ User testing& Feedback

We polished our prototype last weekend in order to prepare for the upcoming in-class user testing. We decided to use paper prototype since it’s more straight forward and we can put more content into the design. These are some of the screens we drew out during the preparation.

user testing session-getting feedback from other group

We tested our polished prototypes with other teams on Tuesday this week, all the users from other teams gave us many feedbacks and advices. We collected feedbacks from 4 teams in total, they pointed out the pros and cons of our prototype. Some comments we received are positive such as our app is pretty straight forward and it’s easy to follow and identify everything. Some of the groups also found our app idea is interesting. We also received many negative feedback and suggestions: 1. most of the teams don’t like the pie chart we have right now and they recommend bar graph. 2. users suggest us to space everything and make the menu and back button more clearly. 3. Simplify the information sessions of our app. 4. Change some of the wording which will potentially make the user confused.

We really gained a lot from the user testing session. Combined with professor Boyle’s lecture on Neilson’s Heuristics, we collaborated some new ideas on how we going to redesign our Beta prototype. Moving to next week, we decide to create a new prototype using Invision and Marvel which are tools for creating digital prototypes.
