Though I believe fresh homemade granola is sooooooo much better than packaged store-bought, Purely Elizabeth gets a 5 Heart Rating because I think it is the best alternative when I don’t have time to make my own granola.
I found Purely Elizabeth the first time at a Whole Foods in California and just recently at a really cool store in Nashville called the Turnip Truck (another 5 Heart Rating coming soon). Supposedly you can find Purely at Target stores now too. This yummy granola comes in great combinations such as chocolate seasalt probiotic, blueberry hemp, pumpkin cinnamon, and cranberry pecan. I’ve tried most of their granolas but none of their other products. So far everything I’ve tried is delicious. Here are the granola choices:
We mix in ancient grains, oats and seeds along with chewy dried fruit, organic coconut oil and organic coconut sugar…purelyelizabeth.com
Another thing I love about Purely is the effort they put toward giving back to organizations such as Slow Food USA, Wellness in Schools, the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, a favorite of mine, Charity: Water and their newest partner, Rodale Institute, which I have just learned has been around since 1947!
Purely Elizabeth uses what they call “ancient grains”. You can read about these grains at their website here: https://purelyelizabeth.com/eat-purely/meet-our-ingredients/ but basically “ancient grains” means:
- Never modified from their original form, these grains are just as nature designed.
- The simpler genetic makeup is easier to digest.
- Nutrient-dense, packed with high levels of protein + fiber.
