What are you actually “building”. The problem with startups in general is that most of them are software centric. Phone apps. It seems more VC’s are willing to gamble money on phone apps rather than a newly designed air conditioning unit, or a better engine. I despise this mentality. Most of these employees at startups that get funded seem to jump from one sinking ship to another, funded by other people’s money. Was Vine really successful? NOPE, but it was for the people who got great salaries, nice offices, basketball hoops and bean bag chairs while it lasted. Millions invested but with no real concept as to how to make a profit. Somehow a bunch of asshole investors didn’t care, until Twitter laid off 350 people and the party ended.
So when someone says the thing that you are building is “stupid” if you can explain how a revenue stream can be generated intelligently, I’m sure it will be called “great”.
