How women are portrayed in today’s society

Girls in today’s society are seen as just an object and are not taken seriously. Just because you are a woman, you are first judged by what you are wearing or have and not by what you say. In society women are looked over when talking about politics, important issues, or sports. As a young age I already knew that I was divergent from all the boys. We are expected to act and do separate things from the boys, as if our appearance was not enough to tell a boy from a girl. In past generations, women have always been the one at the house doing the cooking and cleaning, and men the work outside. Still, women today are shut down to do a top job in a massive company, whereas for men get this type of jobs left and right. In today’s society women are portrayed as less than what they truly are.

In social media women cannot say something that they believe in, because they will not be taken seriously, especially someone that does not speak about issues on a daily basics.

Women cannot express their own thoughts without being judged and be seen as a joke. In addition, social media is like a zoo hectic and crazy, people post rude and hurtful comments to express that women are not worthy to post about topics that are not about fashion or beauty. No matter what everyone has a voice male, female, a 12 year old, or a 84 year old. Everyone should be given a fair chance to speak their mind.

As a young age I learned to be girly and see boys as masculine. In elementary school all my best friends were girls and all the boys played with boys. I learned to clean and cook, while my brother learned how to do chores outside the house. Girls and women are portray as a fragile little creature. Girls are taught to lower their intelligence for the benefit of a boy. Women are held back, whereas men are given all these chances to shine through all the women. In today’s society women are thought to be incapable to make essential decisions. Women can do it too!

Both genders are unquestionably separated in society, genders are expected to be treated completely divergent. The guy must pay on a date or they are not supposed to cry or show feelings. As these stereotypes keep arising in the world, there will be no change, ever! All humans should be treated the same by any gender. Women can be strong and independent without them being manly or not girly enough.

Women currently hold 4.6 percent of 500 CEO roles, and only 14 percent of women are executives.

These numbers do mean something. If you are told other wise then you are ignoring the fact that they are not getting the resources or support someone needs to be known and to get to a higher level in a company. Yes, it is possible, but people need to give women a chance to learn about managing brands or managing a company. When thinking about a CEO the first person we see is a white male, never think about a color women perhaps? Any women in general? There is a men are overpowering all the higher positions and it is women and corporations to change that, yet this stigma of women being the leader is not right or make people feel uneasy.

Women are capable of much more, they are portrayed as weak delicate things. On TV, movies, and in the media they are shown as unknowable people that do not know what they are talking about. As women we think that we should not be vocal of declarative with what we say because then we are portrayed as sassy or aggressive to the public. Whereas, men do the same and are seen as strong leaders. Women CEO should not be a rare thing in today’s society. Women are portrayed as gentle and scared people, in reality we are just put down on social media and in any type of platform that is usual for a woman to know about, sports, politics, and companies. As we progress in the future, I hope to live in a world of gender equality and rights that I as a woman must have. Women are the most strong, courageous, outspoken people in the world!
