Can you be Spiritual without being Religious?

Everytime I search for spiritual growth through religion, I feel a sense of discomfort. After reading the Bible- New and Old Estimates, and Quran I learned that religion really tells you how to live and it bluffs with the existence of Hell and Heaven. I found these studies to be so limited for the modern era too because in the modern era it is essentially recommended to act tolerant to some of the things that the Bible and Quran has taught to be wrong.
