How to install Notepad++

Notepad++, which was first released on November 24, 2003, by its developer Dan Ho, is a free text editor for Microsoft Windows that provides some additional features not found in Notepad, the standard Windows text editor (Hope, 2020). It is available in nearly 90 languages, provides the ability to work with multiple files in single window, and has an easy interface (lastbitcoder, 2021). It is suitable for different profession, such as software engineer, IT manager, engineer, IT support technician, and finance and accounting staff (Estera, 2022). Visit https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/ to download Notepad++ latest version.

Choose latest version, which is version 8.5.4 in this case.

Simply download the 64-bit x64 installer or choose other installer suitable for you operating system.

Open Downloads folder where the downloaded files are normally saved.

Install
Click the installer to begin installing Notepad++.

Choose language to use and click Ok.

Close applications that might interrupt installation process and click Next.

Accept the License Agreement by clicking I Agree button.

Choose location to install Notepad++ or click Next to use default folder.

Choose components to install or click Next to use default option.

Tick Create Shortcut on Desktop or leave it, and click Install.

Wait for installation process.

Click Finish to end the installation process.

Open
Click icon of Notepad++ to open it.

Read the change log to resume new features or bug fixes.
