Mountain Biking Etiquette
On the trail is the last possible place you would expect to follow an encyclopedia of rules, well good news its more like a pamphlet. Of course with anything nowadays their comes at least a little bit of rules to keep things in order and in check. These rules usually differ from community to community but overall they relatively remain the same as the offer the same gain.
One of the most basic rules is self explanatory, leave the trail the same if not better than when you found it. If you find loose trash take some time to clean it up and if you have trash wait til you can get rid of it appropriately.

A certain rule that many people often leave unattended is the rules of passing. If you and another rider are going the same direction you either get off the trail and stop or allow enough room to pass. If you are the one passing you say “On your left” and always pass on the left. If both of you are going opposite directions the one going uphill has the right of way always. This is because it is easier to maintain speed going downhill and maintain a good momentum than if someone was going uphill and having to restart their momentum if they stopped for you. However this rule is void if theirs a big enough area for you to pass each other. Their are many other factors to account for when considering the rules but mostly the theme is, think of other riders and make the trail enjoyable for everyone.
