Was the keeper of the winds and king of mythical floating island of Aiolia. He kept the violent storm winds locked safety inside the interior of isle. Releasing them on command of greatest gods to wreck devastation upon the world, often caused storms in the sea.
The Hero Odysseus once visited Aiosis’ isle and was trusted with a bag containing all the storm winds to ensure a safe voyage home. Durning the trip home though, one of Odysseus companions opened the bag in search for gold and the escaping wind carried their ship all the way back to Aiosis’ shore.
