I love how the Cubs have somehow managed to be a comeback team this year, as defending world champions. Most people, even their fans, know that the Brewers’ hot start is somewhat of a mirage; they’ll probably remain in the WC hunt but are not going to hold off the Cubs much longer.
And yes, the Dodgers have been to exactly one World Series in the past 35 years, after going to eight between 1959–1981. The younger fans only know disappointment, but the older fans (50+) are beyond ready for this drought to end.
