Hi Susan,
Thanks for your story and your words about encouraging kids to tell stories. My wife and I had the great joy of living very close to our granddaughter from birth to 13 years old. I love stories and filled here young life with many. At 13, she is now a grade A student and a quick witted story teller on her own. I like to feel some responsibility for that.
We are also delighted, to our surprise, that she knows more about me as a boy and my parents and grandparents than I can ever remember telling her about. That’s the nature of stories. They are like the air we breath…not noticed at the time , but life sustaining never the less.
Also, we enjoyed a glorious 14 years in the Rockies up Turkey Creek Canyon, (285) west of Denver behind Red Rocks and behind the “Cross” looking west at Mt Evans. We have some wonderful stories about that part of our life.
Thanks for your story. I will follow to stay in touch.
Ron
