The 888 Inner Artist Initiative — May 2023 Update
As discussed in last month’s update, the most significant event in April was NFT.NYC. For those that missed it, here was an extensive recap of what we did in New York.
May represented a return to routine, though as usual, “routine” was active, busy, and eventful. We had the privilege of meeting many new artists and discovering a lot of new, amazing art.
We continued to purchase art. We continued to spotlight artists. And we continued to grow our Verified Inner Artist community. With respect to that community, we reached another milestone. We have now assigned over 200 Verified Inner Artist roles!
As a reminder, artists can apply for the Verified Inner Artist role here. Also, as a reminder, no token purchase is necessary to become a Verified Inner Artist. And artists with the Verified Inner Artist role receive certain privileges that not even our token-holding members get, such as access to our artist-gated “verified-artist-chat” channel and the ability to post art in our “community-gallery” channel.
However, there are two key requirements, in addition to applying, that are necessary before we can grant the Verified Inner Artist role. These requirements are listed on the Verified Inner Artist application form, and they are as follows:
1) Applicants must have joined our Discord Server
2) Applicants must have first received the “community” role by going to our “verify-to-access-server” channel and accepting our community rules.
We cannot assign the Verified Inner Artist role if 1) and 2) are not completed. These are actually the most common reasons why we may not assign a Verified Inner Artist role to an applicant. Often, an applicant is either not in our Server, or is in our Server but lacks the “community” role. If you are an artist that previously applied for a Verified Inner Artist role but did not receive the role, we encourage you to re-apply and ensure that you are in our Server with the “community” role. If you need assistance, please reach out to one of our mods.

Question:
Please tell us about the piece that was submitted for our weekly celebration of art. What was the inspiration behind it?
Answer:
The piece that I submitted — ‘EXPANSE’ — was inspired and influenced by the symphony of transcendental elements present in our very own planet earth with the universe. The vastness and scale of the deserts stretching across hundreds of kilometers is as comparable as to the vastness and mystery of the universe. This is what inspired me to create ‘EXPANSE’ and the title suggests the same.

Answer:

Answer:
The source of inspiration for me is the fantasy world, fairies, I have loved them since childhood. All the winged creatures that I have seen or can think of myself inspire me with their ability to fly and be mysterious 🧚♀️
