I was very interested in what the Brazilian jungle looks like. In the I did not land in the wild jungle. I landed in the Inhotim Park.

Okay, this is not a wild jungle, but quite big area, where is not only the botanical part but also the artwork. One big open space of art and botanical. Everything here can surprise you.

Take a relax next to the entrance before going to explore the wonderful nature

Before the entrance, I have got a map that will show you up the way! It is a large area of about 20km2. Everyone will find something for themselves. I can walk through the park or for about $ 5 per person, take the golf cart.

Here you can not complain about lack of attractions. I was there with my good company mu fiance and his mother. We tried to see everything. At first we tried to walk on foot, but later decided to take golf cart, which led us to the farthest corners of Inhotim.

First we came to:

OITICICA, HÉLIO

Six walls made up of geometric form, also called public square. The space between made a public square as well as private space where people can spend time alone or publicly. At the same time staying with forms, colors and materials.

In open space in nature, the perception of colors and forms and materials becomes consistent. Simple art, but this consistency gives a lot of positive inner feelings.

On the way such a wonderful landscape greeted us ……

We also came to the building full of paintings showing wild Brazilian nature. This full color range, filling of these two images adds depth, so that when you look at the picture you can imagine “Beautiful sandy beach with azure water and palm trees with rich coconuts. And on other exotic trees, many of the oriental species of birds sitting on boughs, living “here and now” — After my few minutes of contemplation, I felt hypnotized by them. It was hard walk away. The best paintings I have ever seen!

After a while, leaving the building, we came across something like this:

AHEARN, JOHN — TORRES, RIGOBERTO

Rodoviária de Brumadinho, 2005
Rodoviária de Brumadinho, 2005

It made me speechless literally to look at these 3D sculptures in the wall.

Jhon Ahearn’s sculptural paintings. These sculptures are very realistic. They show the typical inhabitants of Brazil, more specifically the town of Inhotim, the area of Burmadinho. These characters represent typical workers, such a “gray social class” which is the spine of the entire Latino culture. Every movement shown, facial expressions, attitude show the nature, value and vitality of these people. Here is the bus station, where life is full of energy.

Right next to the other wall there are other sculptures …..

Abre a Porta [Open the Door] presents a festive and pious religious procession that takes place each year in a church just up the hill, which is adopted by the Congo and Moçambique, two branches. The local population of the pure African line came from slaves who practiced the kind of Catholicism that consumed animist deities, or simply say deities like animals, plants, stones, mountains, rivers, stars, etc. They believed that everything had soul or spirit.

Impressive sculptures!

It was not the end of the adventure…

We walked along the bush and we reached the stop place where could take a rest, where we stopped for a while because we noticed a cute monkey who lives in this park. Looking for a treasure from the garbage. Unfortunately didn’t find anything. More good treasures are above our heads.

I am fascinated by Brazilian nature, it’s diversity.

In the farthest parts of Inhotim we could see some physics and geography.

ELIASSON, OLAFUR

Kaleidoscope — an observer of beautiful Latin shapes. This kaleidoscope is positioned in the open area, so you can change the image at any time and create beautiful shapes.

Physics can be fun. : D

And what totally knocked me off my feet was what I was looking for.

AITKEN, DOUG

Sonic Pavilion (2009) — this place was created during five years of research. The principle of construction is very simple, but find a good place to hear the VOICE OF EARTH.

A place where you can hear the voice of the Earth. This is a repetitive pattern rich in frequency and texture, reminiscent of minimalist music that spreads under the echo.

Its construction consisted in drilling a 200-meter deep in the ground. Install a set of microphones to capture the sound of the Earth. Thanks to the brilliant alignment system, this sound is reproduced in real time in an empty circular pavilion that was designed to create an equivalent sound and connected with the environment. These sounds made a huge impression on me. Combination of excitement.

After those few places that we have visited , I was thrilled by this park. I know that in the near future I will definitely come back there because it’s worth it!
