A Study of Light & Shadows.

Take a break from reading & enjoy a gallery, by me.

My interest in playing with shadows stems from my Vitamin D deficiency. Here in London, we don’t get much sunlight. In fact, I’ve spent many mornings miserably basking in the sterile rays of the living room lights. As such, the happiest you’d probably see me is when the sun comes out to to say hi.

One day, as I made a left on my way to campus, I was blinded by the roar of the magnificent sun. Long long shadows were cast on the sidewalk; resembling giants slowly marching down from the horizon. That was when I snapped the picture above and my fascination with shadows began.

Since then I’ve been on a look-out for interesting shadows. This scene really caught my eye, as the tree branches blocked out enough light to form ripples on the wall. Almost literally, we were drowning in sunlight that day.

It seemed as though the more I got into shadows, the more generous the sun has been. We’ve had a string of nice days in the past month and I’m simply spoiled.

A goal at the moment is to find a higher vantage point, and be able to look down at the pedestrians below. Imagine that! A criss crossing of tiny people painting the ground with their long long shadows. That would really make my day.
