Letter To Readers
To Whom It May Concern,
Hello! If you are reading this then that means you have taken at least a superficial interest in my work. And for that, I thank you. I welcome any and all criticism and suggestions as that is the only way I may better my work. I hope to engage with as many of you as possible in open dialogues regarding our works.
Now how about a little bit about me? I was born in the mid-90s to a small, six person family in Northern New England. I was born fairly late in the lives of my parents and siblings and thus at times felt like I had two dads and three moms, all raising and shaping me. From a young age I developed two key passions: animals, and the arts (particularly the field of literature). From a young age I aspired to change the world however I could, I dreamed of being a veterinarian, but if that failed I supposed I could always become a teacher, or philosopher, or perhaps a teacher. Times were tough when I was younger, at least that’s what I’ve since been told, I had two parents who’d never let me know the hardship (and for that I am eternally thankful). For many years I lived contently in that small town but when my time came (as it does for many) to fly forth from my nest I set my eyes on my family’s homeland: Long Island. I joined the English Major in my second year of attending my Stony Brook University with the intention of becoming an educator in the discipline. That, brings you up to the current point at which I am writing this letter.
Now, on the subject of my work. I intend to publish something at least once a week (hopefully Fridays), this can range from a poem, an essay, a short story, a personal anecdote, etc. As I am looking to refine my skills as a writer and critic I am looking not only for readers but for people who are looking to critique my works and help me hone my craft.
Thank you for your time, feel free to message me or comment, I look forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Alex
